6 Pieces for Children, Op. 72

Originally titled 'Six Christmas Pieces' in the original English edition. The more generic name 'Kinderstucke' or 'Children's Pieces' was later considered more suitable, firstly as the works were composed for his wife's relativesin Britain with whom he stayed in Summer 1842, and secondly because they exude no real yuletide characteristics.
