Preces and Responses

These vibrant preces and responses are a refreshing addition to the repertoire for choral evensong. The composer approached the text as prayers, sometimes highlighting exultation, sometimes vulnerability. The setting is for SATB divisi and it is not too challenging. The cantor's part can be sung in the standard chanted rhythm or in the suggested metrical rhythm, depending on the ability of the cantor.
